Disagreement is difference in belief, division is persistent disagreement and without resolution
Disagreement refers to a difference in opinion or belief. It’s a common occurrence in every day life, as everyone has unique perspectives and beliefs based on their personal experiences and knowledge. Disagreements can be healthy and lead to productive discussions, debates, and even bring about change or growth.
Division, on the other hand, is a deeper form of conflict that often results from persistent disagreement without resolution. It implies a severance of unity or harmony, creating separate factions that are often opposed to each other. Division is usually more severe than disagreement as it affects relationships and unity within groups or communities.
For example, two colleagues might disagree on how to approach a project (this is a disagreement). If they cannot find common ground or compromise, they might stop working together effectively which causes division in their team.
So while disagreements are normal and can be constructive if handled well, divisions are typically destructive leading to conflict and breakdown of collaboration.
