Motivation to learn comes from a greater desire
I’m not sure if this needs a little more polishing to fully make sense:
but picture a budding guitarist.
They want to be like John Mayer, let’s say.
They’re now learning the guitar, and all of its intricacies becuase really what they want is to be liked and seen as talented.
It would behoove us to know what our students want in life, and then teach them the skills that will give them that underlying thing, or teach them how to determine what those skills are.
fast learning can produce fast forgetting, Learning magic from a book is better because you integrate the trick into your own personality.
