scaling AI breaks at a certain point

Cal Newport makes the point in a recent video, talking about how we can’t just magically make AI do crazy stuff just because it will be “in a few years.” It is extrapolation, and it isn’t real.

I’ve always said: it will get faster, more accurate maybe, things that computer chips can actually do.

But the tech billionaire’s wet dream of AGI isn’t gonna happen. At least, not given the currently technology.
