The importance of unstructured thinking

When you’re attempting thinking long and hard about a particular problem, the tendency is to say:

  • I will read x number of books and articles on the topic
  • I will try to weave some of this together intentionally in a note-taking app
  • I will create a folder for it on my computer

But when you try to solve problems without such structure, it looks more like:

Important for the AI age.

Ways to do it:

  • go for a walk with a notebook
  • freewrite
  • jam on your guitar
